Our 4th day was spent at Hollywood Studios, which two people so far have asked me how I enjoyed Harry Potter World. Disney does not own Harry Potter, that’s at Universal. Hollywood Studios was great. We knew we were getting closer to the Disney magic when we entered the gates (Disney’s California Adventure’s new gates were modeled after these, so it felt a little like home). Speaking of gates, I didn’t get any pictures, but WDW has this new entrance with RFID chips. They’re rolling out their Magic Band bracelets as I type but we just had our key to the world. Basically, you touched the card to a mickey, it lit up, it scanned your finger, and you were good to go! No more swiping of cards anywhere. Not even in the hotel room. You held it up to the mickey over the handle and the door just unlocked. It was pretty neat, actually. No news on whether or not it will be coming to Disneyland yet, though.
We rode Midway Mania first because we missed that in Disneyland. It broke down. We got to skip ahead because we were a party of 2. 2 is usually the magic seating number and a lot of times will let you skip ahead in line because you’re easier to seat than parties of 3 or 4 or 5. We rode the Tower of Terror twice, and loved it! It’s got more to it than the one in DCA and it’s always fun to drop straight down over and over again. The Rock n’ Roller Coaster was great, as well. 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds? Yes! Don’t move your head though. Seriously. We got fast passes to it from this guy. He just gave them to us. That was so nice, and good because the line looked crazy long!
Being film people we really liked it. We ate at the 50s Prime Time cafe which had really good vegetarian lasagna, and the Actor had friend chicken. The cast members were acting like family, even trying to feed the people at the table next to us their vegetables airplane style. Loved it. I had a pb&j milkshake. The best! I loved it all so much that I ate it all and spent the next few hours sick. We caught Fantasmic that night, too, and got to sit in the handicapped section. They have a lot of those sections, so there was this huge one open in front of a bunch of us who had the worst seats in the house. One lady asked if we could sit up there and once we got the go-ahead, we all rushed down. It had already started, so they couldn’t say no.
